NeuralCAST and RouteCAST
ROUTECAST
Specialized in technologies applied to Meteorology, IACIT is a reference in the area, both in Brazil and abroad, developing software that guarantees flight safety, supporting air traffic operators with weather forecasts.
One of the systems—RouteCAST—identifies the volume or area of airspace under the effect of meteorological formations that may be risky to aircraft in route, allowing monitoring of severe events and predicting their displacement in advance.
In RouteCAST, severe events are geo-referenced displayed on a map, with its web interface, in addition to being automatically provided to external systems such as air traffic control, aircraft flow management, and other systems.
NEURALCAST
Another system, NeuralCAST, uses artificial neural networks to generate information on ceiling weather trends, visibility, wind occurrence, speed, and direction for a horizon of up to 3 hours for aerodromes.
Based on a robust database of weather information, extensive scientific research was carried out, which resulted in the training of artificial neural networks. This database has a high performance in the processing of weather trends, easy integration with other systems, and a high degree of flexibility to other locations. It also sends precious information to the command tower to assist in the decision-making.
Moreover, the system has a web interface in which users can directly access the trend graphs and make registrations to receive automatic alerts when trends indicate that the aerodrome can enter or leave an operational restriction.
