Dual Polarization S-Band Doppler Weather Radar - RMT 0100DS-DP
IACIT, a specialist in meteorology, has developed, manufactured, and installed the RMT 0100DS Weather Radar, a high-performance pulsed radar, S-band (2.7 to 2.9 GHz), tunable, with dual polarization.
RMT 0100 was designed to detect meteorological phenomena over medium distances with greater discernment and classification, using modern technological solutions and updated user interface.
Designed to act as a node in a network, the radar system enables the dissemination of both raw data and products, as well as the integration with information from other weather sensors, such as radars, satellites, weather stations for the generation of composite and overlap products.
The configuration is available according to the application and use, being able to generate modern products with single and dual polarization or specific products for each need.
Applications and Use
Both climate studies and weather monitoring and forecasting make intense use of sensors that are capable of identifying, quantifying, and classifying meteorological phenomena over great distances. Because of their ability to instantly locate and measure atmospheric precipitation, Weather Radars are among the most recommended sensors for mesoscale weather monitoring and forecasting known as “nowcasting”, used in several fields, such as: Research & Development, Air Traffic Control, Climatology, Agriculture, Water Resources Management, and Civil Defense.
