The main goal of Mobile Stations of Classification and Counting of Vehicles – EMC2V IACIT is to provide data from one pre determined location (highway, avenue, street, etc).

The management reports provided by the system support the activities of the Road Traffic managers presenting the necessary information to allow the decision make process.

The EMC2V has been developed in order to allow the following activities:

• To quantify and classify the vehicles in small, medium or large within the flow of traffic in highways, avenues, streets, etc;
• To provide the flow of vehicles in a pre determined location per period of time, allowing the identification of rush hours; and
• To provide the average speed per vehicles per period of time, allowing the identification of traffic jams.

The installation does not require a destructive method of the pavement. It is a quick procedure with 15 minutes duration per location.

The information generated by EMC2V IACIT is locally kept in a safe hardware which guarantees the data integrity and provides the reports according to the Customers´ requirements.

The counting and classification of vehicles are provided with the support of optical barriers installed in the location to be monitored. All the collected data is accumulated in the equipment for a maximum period of five days and is downloaded, via serial communication, in a standard PC or lap top in order to generate graphs and reports.
