The DME 0100 station is the Rho part of a Rho/Theta radio navigation system intended to provide distance and azimuth information to flying aircraft.
The DME 0100 equipment has been designed to be completely modular, with a high degree of commonality among its modules and components.
Construction modularity uses the “plug-in” concept for equipment including the RF power stages. This makes replacement of devices easy and cost effective.
The DME 0100 uses modern, sturdy packaging techniques resulting in a compact product which is ideal for fixed base or transportable use.
The equipment’s high degree of modularity, use of memorized alarms, fault indication, associated front panel test points and continuous integrated monitoring make maintenance easy and cost effective.
The DME 0100 system has been designed for remote, unattended operation and is normally supplied in a dual transponder/dual monitor configuration with automatic main/standby transfer.
The electronic equipment operates directly from an uninterruptible DC power supply consisting of charger/rectifier and a bank of batteries. AC Mains failure will not affect operation of the DME, however detection and indication of source power status is provided locally and remotely.
